Cash, lease or finance

Cash

Own it outright. The biggest savings, and the tax credit and abatement are yours.

Lease

Little or nothing up front. A set monthly payment that's lower than the power it replaces.

How going solar works with us.

  1. Roof and bill review

We look at your roof and 12 months of Con Ed bills to size the system to what you actually use.

  2. Your design and price

One clear price with the state tax credit and NYC abatement already shown.

  3. Permits and paperwork

We handle DOB and FDNY permits, landmarks approval when needed, and your Con Ed net-metering application.

  4. Install and switch on

Licensed, insured crews install, and we file the property tax abatement when the permit closes out.

Common questions.

Can you put solar on a landmarked home?

Yes. We handle the Landmarks Preservation Commission application and design the layout to meet its rules.

My roof is flat. Does that work?

Yes. Most rowhouse roofs in the city are flat. We use flat-roof racking laid out around FDNY access paths.

Do I need a new roof first?

If your roof is near the end of its life, it's cheaper to replace it before panels go on. We check it at the visit and can do both. See our roofing page.

Should I pay cash, lease or finance?

Cash saves the most over time. Financing lets you own the system with monthly payments and still claim the tax credit and abatement. A lease means little or nothing up front and a set monthly payment, and the leasing company owns the system and its incentives. We price all three so you can compare.

Will my bill really go down?

With net metering, extra power your panels make is credited on your Con Ed bill. Most customers still pay the fixed monthly hookup fee.
